EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (September 21, 2026) – For the first time in New Jersey high school football history, all seven NJSIAA state football championship games will be played at MetLife Stadium, bringing the state's premier high school football event together in one location on one of the nation's most iconic sports stages.
The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) will crown seven state champions at MetLife Stadium on Saturday, November 28, and Sunday, November 29, creating an unprecedented championship showcase featuring the best high school football teams from across New Jersey. Studentathletes will compete on the same field as the NFL's New York Giants and New York Jets while representing their schools, communities, and regions in pursuit of a state title.
“We’re thrilled to give every team competing for a state championship the opportunity to play in an NFL stadium,” said Colleen Maguire, executive director of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association. “This will be a special experience for our student-athletes, coaches, families, and school communities. MetLife Stadium has been a valued partner of the NJSIAA for many years, and we appreciate its continued support of New Jersey high school athletics.”
Bringing all seven championship games to MetLife Stadium elevates the student-athlete experience and further showcases the passion, tradition, and competitive excellence that define high school football throughout the Garden State. The championship weekend is expected to unite communities from every corner of New Jersey while providing athletes with memories that will last a lifetime.

MetLife Stadium first hosted the NJSIAA Championships in 2010, with the very first game seeing Wallington snap Mountain Lakes’ 35-game winning streak – the longest in the state at the time. Since then, 90 different schools from across the state have participated in a total of 96 games in front of over 400,000 fans at the stadium. 2026 will see numerous milestones achieved, including the 100th NJSIAA championship game to be played at MetLife Stadium.
The championships continue MetLife Stadium's longstanding commitment to hosting premier sporting events while supporting youth athletics and community engagement throughout the region. By welcoming all seven state title games, the stadium further strengthens its role as a gathering place for memorable moments at every level of sport.
